I am ahead!

My word count for NaNoWriMo indicates me of being ahead of the game by two hundred and three words. Which is pretty good. I was playing FFIV for most of the day then I decicded to get my NANoWriMoing done for today. I'm fairly happy with the results. As Travis stated yesterday, I misuse and misspell words, and misuse grammar a lot. So if you do see any leave me a note and I'll fix it up in my actually version. For now I'm just writing really fast to complete my word count! Feel free to tell me any of your thoughts on the story and such.

So with all that jazz, here is the next part of the story;

Stage 3

Gix almost forgot to grab the water bucket on his hurry to complete Zefer’s request. Gix was feeling enthusiastic; he couldn’t help but keep a very toothy smile on his face as he strode down to the river where he had just been moments before. Peering over the side over the bank Gix swung the bucket messily into the river, and hoisted it back up again. The bucket was heavy. It was much heavier then Gix could ever remember his water bucket being. A quick glance in the bucket and Gix had his answer.
There was a strange metal object at the bottom of the bucket. He must of scooped it up from the river just now. Gix fished the thing out of his bucket to inspect it closer. It dawned on him, this was that strange object that the old man in the town gave him. Gix must of have dropped while he was swimming to shore. Crouching close to the waters again he dumped the water, and scooped up a fresh batch of water and stood up. Gix really wasn’t sure what to do with such a strange object. There wasn’t anytime to think about weird objects given to ‘heros’, so shaking his head Gix put the weird thing in his back pocket.
It must have been how panicked he was before but he never realized how heavy this silly thing was.
Returning to the hut he found Zefer out side with beside his make-shift cloths line. Zefer was there hanging up the wet laundry that Gix had left all over the floor upon his scurried exit. Gix with his water bucket was taking exaggerated steps towards him. Zefer felt his presents and turned slowly around.
“Ah there you are, where did you run off to just now.” Zefer was speaking to him as if nothing had happened. Not him being away, not the whole incident in town. He didn’t even realize that he had send Gix to get water.
“I…” words poured to surface of Gix’s mind, he shut his mouth before he spewed them all out at once and made himself look like a fool. “I went to go get water just like you asked.”
Zefer raised an eyebrow, and then broke of into a light chuckle. “Was I commanding you around in my sleep again?” Zefer turned back around to finish hanging the laundry. “I thought I told you not to listen to me when I’m asleep.” Well that was true. Gix remembers first arriving at the cabin with Zefer and in the middle of the night Zefer had told him to chop fire wood. Gix did as Zefer asked and chopped as much fire wood as he could before he passed out. Zefer had found him slumped over the axe asleep in the morning and hadn’t the foggiest idea why.
“Uhh…” Gix motioned towards the bucket of clean water he had just retrieved. Zefer gave a quick look over his shoulder before returning to smoothing out the laundry on the mine.
“Well I can’t very well drink it like that now can I?”
“You can’t?”
“No, where is the ladle? If you wouldn’t mind could you fetch it for me.” Gix felt a little foolish. Zefer was always a bit more proper then he was. Embarrassed Gix set down the bucket and went to go fetch the ladle for Zefer.
“Oh while you’re at it Gix,” Gix’s ear perked up just before he entered the hut’s front door. “Would you mind putting a shirt on?” Looking down Gix saw that he indeed had not been wearing a shirt. Zefer had already fully dressed himself with the clothes he had left in the hut before he left.
In the hut there was a tiny dresser with six drawers on it. The right side was full of Zefer’s clothes and the left was full of his…. or at least what was left of his. When Gix came here he was a bit younger then he was now… so all the clothes that he had with him turned into t-shirts and shorts. He had to take a few of Zefer’s clothes to have long sleeves and pants. Gix felt like he had been caught in the act of stealing some of Zefer’s clothes.
Taking of his pants, he felt the heap of clothing crash to the ground. Gix was startled for a bit before he realized that he still had the weird object in a pocket in his pants. He took it out and placed in the bottom drawer on his side of the dresser. He wasn’t sure what it was or what it was for, but Gix was sure of one thing. He wasn’t a hero and would never need such a tool to be one. His pants where still damp so Gix quickly put on his shorts and a sleevless shirt of his. The shirt was light and breezing. His arms shivered a tad bit and Gix decided that as soon as it was dry he was going to put on his white shirt again. Gix quickly lacated the ladle, for there wasn’t many cooking utensails in the tiny hut’s “kitchen” area. Gix returned to Zefer outside who took the ladle and drunk gracefully.
After a few gulps and a satisfying ‘eahh’ sound, Zefer put down the bucket and decided to speak to his old friend. Gix had moved onto placing his damp pair of pants on the line.
“So what kind of grub do you have kicking around in there?” Zefer said casually while stretching his arms behind him.
“Grub?” Gix was a little confused at the terminally. “Are you talking about a type of caterpillar larva?” Zefer’s faced twisted into a more confused face then Gix’s.
“No I’m talking about food.” Zefer made an eating motion with his hands. “You know, grub, chow, food, it all the same. So what have you got in there?”
Gix remembers describing Zefer as ‘proper’ but this was another part of Zefer he remembered; he was completely unpredictable. But despite that fact Gix’s face remained turned to side in bewilderment. “You’re seeking nourishment?”
“No I am seeking larvas! You goon, of course, I’m hungry! Have you never eaten before?” Zefer through his hands up in exasperation “Come on follow me!” Zefer walked into the hut again and Gix followed.
Gix watched as Zefer looked at the various boxes and bags left in the cupboard. Inside most of the boxes were horrible smells and families of bug. Gix watched Zefer turn a deeper shade of green as he opened and quickly closed each box. After opening the last box in there tiny kitchen and finding millions of little bugs running around Zefer turned towards Gix.
“You let all of the food go bad?” Gix only blinked back at him. Too appalled to be bothered with the moldy boxes any longer Zefer went and grabbed his sword beside his bed. Gix had completely forgotten about the blade, but remembers Zefer clutching it the whole trip back here.
“I’m going to go hunt something for us. You stay here and clean out all of those… foul boxes, and if I’m not back by the time you finish …” Zefer tailed off in thought for a moment.
“Try to find some sort of vegetable or herb for us to eat.” With that Zefer stormed out of the hut. Gix remembered seeing food in those boxes before. He even remembered the exact day when he first saw the family of moths first infiltrated his oats. Gix didn’t want to disturb them so he let the box be. But now… he supposed he didn’t have a choice.
Gix gathered up all of the boxes and the boxes and stacked them all in front of him as he wondered out side. Now making his third trip to the river, he had a fairly good idea where he was going, so he didn’t mind that the boxes obstructed his view. Approaching the river once more he carefully set down eh boxes and began to open them one at a time. He opened on full of months and watched as they all went fluttering away. After he make sure that no bugs were left inside the container, he plunked it down into the cool stream and moved to free the next batch of bugs. There was a sort of thrill inside as he freed them, and watched them all flutter away. Something new and invigorating was taking this place. How powerful he felt that was, this new emotion being born on the back of freedom. Then Gix opened a box of something purely rotten and that majestic feeling left him.
He then took to plunging the box into the river countless times to free it from its contents. Seeing that having little effect he then began clawing at the messes inside with his figure nails. It seemed equally as pointless as repeatedly dunking it. Gix resolved to let to boxes sit in the steam while he searched for some herbs or vegetables like Zefer suggested. He wasn’t too sure what they might look like, he wished that there would be signs above wherever they might lay saying exactly what the plant was.
His search brought him back to hut by to marble hill. He spotted some strange vegetable that was growing purple coloured steams connected to large flat green leaves. Racking his brain for an answer, Gix tried to remember if such bright colours meant that they were vegetables… or poisonous. He decided that Zefer would probably know and began pulling them up. They weren’t stuck in there very hard, and Gix couldn’t help but wonder if the heavy rain yesterday helped loosen them a little bit. He saw the foot marks that led up the mountain that he had made only hours before. That sent him in a spiral of thoughts. Gix found him self looking behind him towards the clothes line, something that interested Gix greatly was there. He collected his strange vegetables and wonder over to see what the object was.
It was in some glass charm about the size of his palm and within it he saw the darkest substance he had ever seen in his life. No light reflected off of it. Just as Gix bent down to inspect it further he felt something tight wrap around his neck. Gix’s face turned a quick shade of purple as he reached for his neck, but his hands found nothing. Nothing physical was there. Gix’s heart started pounding faster as he tried to ponder this anomaly. Gix’s only quick conclusion was that this black substance in the glass was squeezing the life out of him. His vision started to blur as he found himself choking for air. Gix was looking face to face with the devil and it wanted him dead.

Nice! I like in stage two, you described what they looked like a bit. Im a good helper! lol :P

Gix is such an odd character! Did he let his food go to waste because he didn't want to disturb the bugs? He must be so curious! He keeps getting himself into trouble!

Im enjoying this. Im sure you still are angry that I left you on a HUGE cliff yesterday, and this morning, and this afternoon... but I wrote more again when I should be writing my essay... that's due at 7pm tomorrow! GASP
