So today I woke up around noon and was up for about two hours when I decided that I wanted to sleep some more. So I crawled back in my bed and continued sleeping...
Then I think I had the weirdest surrealist dream I've ever dreamt.
All right so it started one night at the homestead in Petrolia. I was sitting around the house with Mom, Cara, and Jessica. I can't tell what we were talking about because as soon as the dream started my dad comes rambling in. Whether he was in a drunken stupor or high of his rocker I couldn't tell. All I could tell was that he was in an impaired state and the hairs on the back of my neck where raised. I couldn't even stand the sight of him. Something happened to trigger me. I think he approached mom in her bedroom and I became quite upset when they started arguing. I rushed in and began arguing with my dad myself. Mom was able to slip away. As per-normal my arguments with this monster well always loud and terrifying. As the argument escalated I mean picking thing up and throw them at him. Trying to make the cursed beast leave. After this mayhem I became weary of his presents and soon felt like striking him to the ground. In order to calm myself I walked away.
However no matter how fast I fled he was hot on my heels and as I rounded the corner into the living room I heard the sound of my bedroom door opening. I was instantly insulted. The gull this horrid man must have for walking into my bedroom.
Spinning on my red hot heels I look into my bedroom just to see this man slide his arm across the tops on my shelves knocking anything of value to the floor. All my possession that I deemed worthy of display were not smashed in two or trampled on by my fathers muddied boot.
Outraged I was. I couldn't take a moment of this man's life. There was rope in my palm from where I do not know. I tightened it around the evil man's throat. Behind me, the clamors of my sisters and mother, ravenous to get me to stop. I was deaf to their calls and senseless to their touch.
Except through it all my father looked at me... the first time he had ever looked at me. I believe he asked me why I cared... Why did I care about him enough to do this.
For the first time in my life it felt like he was reaching out to me. Instead of the selfness I knew him as he was interested in my well being instead of his own. My grip loosened. The rope fell away. A shining beacon of light was there in my mind.
If i could answer this question, all of my troubles would solved. This man would finally be able to understand the real me. Understand why it was I had been doing what it is I do. I started to weep.
"Dad..." I was able to mumble out. I breathed in a prepared for my next statement. But just as the words were tickling my tongue. My mind clouded and soon boiled. My vision blurred. My legs where failing to keep me standing. I couldn't stand before him anymore. Within a second I fell forward, my moment taken from me. And any hope I had of my father understanding me dashed to pieces.
The next morning I awoke. I was in my bedroom with my articles still thrown about the bedroom floor. I was on a cot. A most uncomfortable cot at that. Trying to remember what had happened to me the night before, I was only able lift myself up a bit above the bed before become weary again.
What was the matter with me. I felt like all the muscles in my body were shriveling up. No longer able to support me. My arms shook. I was able to look up and see my sister sitting on my bed looking at me. If it was a smirk or a sad face I couldn't tell. She began explaining to me what had just happened.
The night before while the hour of my father's murder would of been at hand. They struck me with a needle. The syringe contained the most mysterious black liquid which now lay inside my body. The needle made contain with my leg. That would explain why my legs felt almost like they didn't exist. She now held the empty needle. Playing with it in-between her fingers.
Then I realized that they had taken away the time I desperately needed. My father's mind was blurred once again and my chance to reconcile with him was gone further now then it had ever been before. Confused and angry I could not find the words to tell my sister the serious mistake she had just made. Before I even had time to contemplate the sentences I would need to tell her, the dinner bell rang. My sister got up and went to the dinner table. I knew my whole family would be there. Thinking I too should go join them, I stood up. However that black liquid inside of me rendered me useless. I feel forward upon my bed. My eyes dimming and strength failing, I realized that this black liquid wasn't something I was ever going to be able to recover from. I would remain bed-ridden for the rest of my life. I struggled to pull myself under the covers. I felt the heat from my sister disappearing just as I had felt my love from my family vashing as well. They had cut me out. Feeling betrayed and bitter my vision blurred as the black liquid secured my sleep.
The next fifteen year I spent boiling down my hatred for my family. I was moved to a small mansion on an island somewhere I knew not of. My guess was that my attempted murder had rendered me an outlaw, however with this extreme handicap of the black liquid in my body, I was no longer a threat to anyone. So this rich family took me in. Why? I know not. Perhaps they had seen the worth within myself that I had abandoned.
This billionaire had decorated his home with the finest Victorian fashion. And whilst I was staying there I was expected to dress in the same. I woke on a couch in the den. The fireplace was lit ever so slightly as the flames dances traces of light against my face. I was dressed in the finest of Victorian fashion and was gently coming to. I realized my head was resting on something warm. I looked up to see that I had fallen asleep on the lap of one of the rich man's daughters. She had taken a shine to me and if there was any happiness left in my life I suppose I would have shared it with her.
"Fell asleep did you?" She had asked me as she closed a book and placed it beside her. I suppose she was reading to me before I had lost consciousness, which happened far to often then I would have liked. I jerked and sat up. Trying to rub the haze of confusion my curse had laid on my out of my eyes.
"Y-yes... I suppose I did. Please forgive me." said as the dizziness cleared. I was able to conquer my curse ever so slowly. Between my states of unconsciousness. I would be able to walk around like normal without worrying about a collapse. I stood up suddenly like I was about to go somewhere when her had reached out and grasped mine.
"Please sir," She called to me, I turned around. "The hour is late, let me take you up to your chambers." It did frustrate me so living my days sleeping it away and then at night expected to sleep some more. Opening my mouth to protest I stopped when she stood up and lead me there without my input on the matter.
I was frightenly thin. My appetite for food had vanished. And the possibility of working out to gain muscle mass was completely out of the question. So the fact that she could pull me along wasn't very hard to imagine. Emotionless I listened as she talked about her day, dabbling in her goals in life, what she wished for. I walked behind a screen and began to change into lighter night robes. As I began for bed, she struck up a conversation with me once again.
"How did you enjoy your day?" She had asked with an almost sunny smile. I expressed to her how I couldn't remember most of it because I had been unconscious for a vast majority of it. She seemed sad at that. In an attempt to cheer me up said added on that my family would be visiting me tomorrow.
That was like acid to my hears.
"What?" I hissed. She started to explain what she meant as if I didn't understand. I slapped her across the face and demanded she leave me. She bowed and did so. This would have been alarming except my behavior was sour like this most of the time. I was truly one with my decay.
I sat on the side of my bed. On the nightstand there was a single candle. I reach over and sent it to the floor. It blew out. My fury was building. I did not wish to see them ever. Especially sense they were responsible for my now ever enveloping curse.
I must leave, I convinced myself.
I strode for the doors. The mansion was quite and asleep. My escape was flawless. I knew where the main entrance way was. Even though I had never ventured out side of it myself. I took off down a dirt road way. The sides of the road were covered in trees I could not see any other path other then the one before me. I would jog when I could, but when I feel fatigue rush over me I would walk. I must had been walking and escaping for several hours because the next thing I knew the sun was rising. the air infront of me turned a green colour with the morning sun. The sun's rays brimmed the tree tops and struck my eyes. More powerful then I had ever remembered them being. It was impossible to grasp at the fragile being I had become. Sweet began collecting on my brow. Even walking began to turn tiresome. My straight was fleeing me once more. I felt my toes numb in my shoes. Each step my legs slowed. Desperate to flee as far as I could I tried for one last step. Unable to do so I fell forward. My hands could not even rise to stop my fall. My strength has disappeared and I could no longer moved. However I did not slip away into sleep. I laid there completely unable to move. I felt the dust settle from my fall, and then the sun stare blazing on the back of my head.
This was longest time I had been awake in as long as I could remember. Helpless, useless, but proud. I began to cry. Water from my eyes mixed with the dirt on my face and disappeared into white dirty road.
A few hours must have pasted before I heard. A clunky noise. Unable to look around. I closed my eyes, expecting to be run over. the noise come closer and closer and then stopped as it rest beside me. Unable to look up, unwilling to, I listened to the noises. I was picked up by the back of my shirt. And place on a metal surface. Then I heard it. The voices of my accursed family. They had found me. I felt we were moving and my rage began to entangled me. They were laughing with each other. Even my father was there, joining in on the fun. I was bitter and my anger was about ready to explode. Just as I thought I would be able to stand up, and escape. My mind began to cloud again and I fell unconscious.
When I awoke it was night time again. I was washed and dressed in the finest of Victorian fashion again. It was no doubt the billionaire's daughter who had cleaned me up. Of that I was almost certain. I was laying on the same couch as the night before in the den. There was no fireplace lit, and my tiny frame felt the cold. The hallway leading to the dinner room from the den was lit, and joyous laughter could be heard echoing from there. How it haunted me. I walked towards the main entrance. Interested in escaping once again. My body would hold out for escaping down the road that much was sure. I had to find another means to escape.
I slipped out of the house through the same grand entrance way. It was raining to torrential degrees outside. Instead of running down the road way, I went to the back of the mansion. There was tiny dock that I had been taken to once or twice when I first arrived here. I went and stood on the wet dock. Regarding the mansion I could see the window of the dinning room lit up through the rain. I sneered.
Lightning crackled in the sky allowing me to see the disturbance the sea was under. Monstrous waves crashed against each other, creating the largest wave I had ever seen.
It rose above me. Then collapsed on top of me. I was knocked over. The boats tied to the side of the dock were devoured by this thing. I was still on the dock drenched. I stood up, starting re-evaluate the efforts of my escape plan when I had noticed that the slates in the dock were loose. they were sinking into the water under my weight. Trying to flee I began to run. Just as I did I began to feel the ever familiar fuzziness feeling in my legs and the clouded vision in my head. I slipped and fell forward. My conciseness was fading from away. I barely felt the second wave envelope my body. it took me with it. I remember the feeling of water all around me as everything grew dark. I'm not sure if I drowned or not. But I never remembered waking up from that again.
So that was my dream... i was trying to write it like in the style of a classic horror novel, because thats how it felt to me in my dream.
Weird, eh?
