Fourteen Days Later

Hey there happy blog followers. Seems I have not been updating very often as of late. Oops. It's almost the end of my first school year in Toronto and I thought it would be appropriate if I did one last blog before I temporarily gave up my blogging for this term. I will resume again in August when I am back up here in Toronto wishing I was home.

I've been pretty busy doing homework, but also trying to utilize the last of my high speed internet I can before I have to say good bye to it and go back to dial up at home.

Some one the things I've been doing is playing Little Big Planet, Watching Shugo Chara!, trying to figure out how to program RPG maker VX with Ruby, Downloaded Mario RPG and general facebooking.

before I go into more detail about what I've been up to recently I realize I haven't finished informing you about me and Emily's last day in Montreal on Valentines weekend. Which is a pretty big cliffhanger if you ask me. I think I've forgotten more of it but I'll try to retell what I can.

Abandon Ship

The last day in Montreal, Sunday was the day me and Emily promised each other that we'd wake up early. As far as I can remember... we didn't we still slept in more then either of us would of liked to. Oh well energy is energy. There were some museums in the area that we were thinking of visiting, but we got up early enough that none of them was open yet. We found a Titanic Exhibit and Emily seemed excited to see it. So we went in and decided to see what we could. We each got a passenger card. Which had the name of a person aboard titanic. I was a rich 2nd class passenger; Mr. Percey. Emily was an ill mother of two young children and boy and a girl. She also had a husband. She was a third class passenger.

There was an excellent lighting job and matching music to each objects and information displayed. I decided that I would read everything so it took us a while to walk through it all.

We finally got to the end and each of us got unhappy endings. My guy died and Emily's lady had survived with her husband, but she found that both of her children had died.

That sorta put a damper on the morning. For some reason we stayed int he mall for a while and it took me and ridiculous about of time to choose a restaurant to eat at in the food court. After that our room mates Nicole and Nick joined us and Nicole and Emily went shopping. I think Emily bought a dress she plans to wear when the weather is warmer. I wanted to find a hat or and belt or something like that but I couldn't find anything like that. But suddenly I was stuck by the most un-comfortable 'I gotta go potty' feeling I've ever had in my life. So we went back to the mall and found a wash room.

And for some reason we stayed there for long time and Emily was getting irritated. So we left and decided to head back to the hotel. Only our lunch in food court hadn't been very filling and it had been likes five of six hours since we ate last, so we spotted a Tim Horton and decided to have lunch there. Which was a terrible idea. Emily got a Egg salad sandwich and I got a bagel with cream cheese. Only since neither or us speak French as a second language, our order got extremely messed up.
Emily got her sandwich right but they had forgotten to charge us for our drinks and they got the type of cream cheese I wanted wrong. So since there line behind us was moving we waited to order drinks and decided to eat what we had been given.

I remember just as I was commented on how good Emily's sandwich looked and was thinking of ordering one myself Emily notices that she's bleeding and pulls a screw from the sandwich...
Both of us upset got and talk to the people. Their manager isn't in so the lady 'fake' calls them and says the only thing that they can do is give us a new sandwich... To what find another screw in? No thank you.

Now that the end of the trip had been wonderfully spoiled, I bought some cookies and chips and we hid in our hotel room and watched tv. Nicole and Nick came back and we all properly discussed they days events while getting drunk.

The next day before we left we all went and enjoyed creapes and I bought my Cloud action figure. Then a very long bus ride later we all wound up in Toronto. Ending our trip entirely.

So I've also been doing homework and if you recall. You all voted that I do my sculpture on Alex. So I did and now I've got pictures to share.

Tah Dah!
Alexi! Isn't his eye's scary? I had to think up a visual reason for those sun glasses. So I made his eyes scarier beyond compare! Yippee.
When I brought this in to show everyone the teacher loved the cape. :D that made me smile. I spent more then 12 hours straight working on this guy so it had better look good! I made the clothes myself too. Well of course I didn't sow it. I hot glued it. Which is to extremely uncomfortable to wear I'm sure. But I did it in a way where I hid the seams and there isn't hot glue on the clothes in sight! *pats own back*

So he took a fair bit of work. I build wire frame on him, then I wrapped him up in tin foil to bulk it out, then I built a basic version of him, then cooked that and chopped off his limbs then I detailed each limb, hair, face, and body. Then after that I painted it all up then after that I glued his clothes on and glued his limbs back together in one fowl swoop. Then I built him some tiny sunglasses and his cape! Hurrah!

That stand he's standing on is a bounce dryer sheet box filled with rice and black construction paper all over it.

Oh other story of mine. I decided when I got back up here from my Easter weekend at home I cook myself some stir-fry. I know, I know I don't know what told me to do it. Usually I'm pretty good at sticking to my pre-made meals and don't venture into the art of cooking, but I guess I needed to remind myself that I can't cook.

This time it was chicken stir-fry with chicken, rice and various vegetables mixed it. I stared off de-thawing the chicken by letting it sit out on the counter. After an hour of it sitting there I was disappointed to find that it was indeed still a brick of frozen chicken. Quickly wanting a meal I then by-passed the thawing stage and moved straight to the cooking stage. I began to fry my frozen chicken breasts in a frying pan before mixing other things in. This reminded me that I should cook the rice and cook the frozen veggies as well. So I threw it all into a pot and set it to boil. The chicken was being very stubborn and was not thawing for me in my heated frying pan. SO to speed up the process, as soon as a bit became soft enough to cut through, I did, and proceded to make chicken chunks.

This took a very long time to do. But I eventually got my frying pan full of chicken chunks. Then I remember when Emily made a stir-fry for us (of which this dish was inspired from) she put sauce in which the meat to let it soak up flavor. Feeling that my chick bout wasn't over yet I proceeded in doing so. This took a great deal longer then I thought. By the time the puddle of sauce was now into my chicken chunks and smelling wonderfully I remembered the rice. It and the veggies where still in the water boiling away. So I grabbed a strainer and dumped the load in...

...

No water was strained out. Not a drop. It had a been absorbed by some very fat soggy rice. Thinking I could fix this problem by boiling the water out of the rice I threw the concoction in with my chicken chucks and put the temperature as high as it could go. After a bit it began smelling... not appetizing at all, so I then grabbed some more sauce and doused the mix in. After one and a half hours of stirring this mess in a frying pan the dish was not fixed, the rice did not calm down and now my delicious chicken chunks where hopelessly lost in the pile of goo. Which had turned gray for a reason i do not know.

Moaning the loss of my chicken chunks and my entire meal, I sucked it up and sat down to my very gross meal. As I was scooping a plate full I realized that I probably had enough of this stuff to last me all week.
And now I am out of barbecue sauce, the only way to smother this dish with to make it editable.

So let me reiterate this last part for you. I cannot cook.

Thea has moved out now, she left on Saturday morning. I was sleeping in. It's what I'm good at. And all week end I've had this tugging feeling to make something. But every time I try to create an RPG or scribble down some pictures or try writing something I cannot do very much of it. I have to stop. I've been feeling this agitated way all weekend and have not been able to shake it for five days.

I am excited to go home.

Something else has been on my mind

And a tiny poem I made up.

"You do know that I would…
It means everything.
Proud of the open air, somehow now feels stifled.
Words stay in the throat and distance creeps between the hands.
Swallowing down darkness, wishes ride on a vow.
Speech always came so easily, why not now?

Why am I so scared?"

Cream Clean

So Judging by how far I am along in posts this month and what day it is... I am four posts behind. Sorry guys. :P

::Edit:: I love this video!

So today was a day just like any other, except I handed in all of my work that I have due in my two classes today. I was slacking off huge on both of them.

One class is my drawing 2 class. To sum that class up... it sucks. I skipped a few days and didn't pay attention to the dead lines because I think the instructor who teaches it is a moron. I have a drapery study due, rough sketches for said drapery study due, I also had a chessboard composition due along with sketches of a sculpture at the A.G.O. My other class I had to rent a camera for and so I finally did. I needed to hand in a picture of somebody by a window, three pictures of moving things, and a picture of an object. I also had to hand in six pictures containing a portrait, object, landscape, body art, black and white, and an open one. Only In this one I had to have 3 different version of said pictures. One in Raw, One in photo shop format and the last one as the final jpeg. Then I also had to hand in my assignment where I used photo manipulation to age myself. That's seven assignments and sixteen pieces of work!

I was ambitious last weekend. With Emily's help (who came over last weekend) I got all of that done! Emily is a magnificent photographer is any of you didn't know. All the pictures I was taking sucked and almost everyone that she took I liked if not loved. I guess the only thing I can take pictures of is my self.

After men a Emily had our photo-taking extravaganza (wholy shit I spelt that right one the first try) we when a a tour of malls in my area. However before we can get there we hear the creepiest music... And just across the way we see it...

The haunted ice cream truck... the sides were dirty and the windows were so foggy you couldn't see inside anymore... but was visible was pure black. Think of the most lively haunting music you can the have it play as you're unsuspectingly walking somewhere. Yeah it's pee you pants worthy. then when we get out of ear shot we hear it getting louder again...

Me and Emily stop and slowly turn around, then just around the bend, it appears, following us, and coming closer. If I wasn't so naive I would have grabbed Emily and ran for it! But we did start walking faster. Luckily there were two black kids who yell, "Ice cream truck!" and ran towards it, like it was suppose to be something happy. The truck stopped right by then, happy to claim more victims and me and Emily were able to escape.

Had it not been for those two brave children who willingly sacrificed themselves I don't know what me and Emily would have done.

Well creepy ice cream truck aside, I made myself some scrambled eggs for supper/lunch and when I was done I noticed how messy my bathroom was. (Not that I was eating in the bathroom) SO I hauled out some cleaning products and scrubbed the thing from top to bottom. When Thea got home she just stood in there and said "So shiny!"

Then after that I cleaned my own room, which seems to become messier and messier lately. Once I was done that I did my Wii Fit for the first time in about half a year. Now I'm planning a doing some homework before bed!

Golly how did I get so inspired? Oh wait... I know. I was feeling rather nerdy about an anime I've been watching recently. And so before all this I made my own Shugo Chara! He's dressed up as a knight! I named him Drahri. Teh epics! It's because Its been a dream of mine to be some sort of chivalrous hero. He has mint green hair and just looking at him really inspires me... I don't really know why those. Maybe because its suppose to be the embodiment of my dreams? It also gives me a great idea for Easter presents.

So who is it that you dream of your self of?

I feel rather accomplished. ^.^

Writing Sleepy

This week has been pretty crazy as far as the amount of work that has been loaded on. I've been givein at least two things to do by every class. Some have given me even more! Gulp! Not to mention that many of them are due next week. So I have devoted this weekend a work weekend. I cleaned my room and did my dishes and invited Emily over for the weekend.

We were going pretty good with keeping up with our work load until today hit. I mean the 4th of April. The night before we stayed up until three in the morning, so we slept until noon, then we had ceral and went back to bed promptly. When four in the afternoon rolled around we decided to get our lazy bums outta bed.
We had dinner a couple hours after that and before we knew it, it was night again. We wound up havinjg a midnight dinner and then after that turned into a co-ed writing time!

I got to work joting down idea for the infinity rule, in which me and Thomson are now diligently working on again, and she decided to write more of her book.

Sadly that is not my homework for this weekend to I guess I'll have to work on them soully on sunday and Monday. Hopefully if I work hard enough I can finish all of my work of this week on the weekend adn then I would simply have to go about the week. :)

I had an idea about something in which I wanted to put down in writing before I forgot it. I had an idea that I wanted to write a book about the six colours. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple. And it would be neat to try and write it so that the six colours would interact with each others and display their own properties of characteristic of colours. Like red would be very passionate and blue might be calm and sad, purple would at drak and royal, and green might be jealous and greedy but rich and yellow would be sunny and happy and orange would be fun and odd. Just idea's ideas I'm thinking of. However I don't really have a place to put them all right now so they will remain as a character idea for now. An orgianl idea I hope.

But something tells me I have enough characters/stories on the run right now as it is. Hurm... that just makes me want to complete something. Emily said I'm good at coming up with ideas but not so good and completeing them. Perhaps I'd make a good producer?

Well that's all for now.

Servery Says

The polls are in it looks like Alex has won!
I'll start one draws of him soon. And it better be soon because I need to start constructing him on Thursday. I think I'll also try, (If I get this down right) to construct a couple of my characters. It'd be nice to be surrounded by them all. I'd like to thank you all for helping me decide.

SO today was pretty fine, I was able to go to class, and not miss it. Although it was boring as always, Glenn Chadwick is a very boring man. I swear all he talks about is his friend Philip and his favorite school Sheridan. It upsets me to listen to him so.
And since I feel so strongly about not liking this guy I have made everything he says sound like crap. Well I dunno, he could have some valuable information in him, but I just don't want to hear him talk.

I actually didn't want to turn this into a rant but it wound up turning into one. Grr.
Andy came over again and gifted me cake and lasagna! Hurray! He also came up with the song and catch phrase of the day as we were walking to school.

♫ My daddy lies over the ocean, ♪
♪ My mommy lies over the sea, ♫
♫ My daddy lies over my mommy, ♪
♪ And that created me. ♫

And the catch phrase of the day; 'The doctor shanked my baby!'

After Glenn's BOOORing class we headed down to the cafe, which is where I found a toonie. It was burning a hole through my pocket so I swiftly exchanged it at the local Timmies for a Hot Chocolate. I didn't win the roll up the rim again.

There was also an art book fair going on in my cafe so me and my friends searched around there until our next class. Everything is so pretty, I lurv it all so much. I wish I was rich so that i could buy many many art books! I'd love that so much. There was like the original art from Meet the Robinsons, and Corpse Bride and all that kinda stuff.

Next was digital imaging, Mikki and Cam also helped vote. Mikki was telling me that she was completely against Alex winning. My reading the character descriptions it sounded like I should of done a character that had an environment. So I would need to think of a place to place Alex. I'll be sure to post pictures of what ever I do up on here.

Digital imaging was a work period so I had to start working a character for that. Emily got me pumped for Malice so this was born;

He's a little bit darker then I think i might f liked, but I think it all suits him. It's kinda baffling to think that I created him for start to finish with two sets of 3 hour increments. Comments would be nice to hear on him. I think I'll like to go print him out and hang him on my wall. Infact I think i just might.

I'm feeling very accomplished for some reason, even though I know that I shouldn't be. I have four projects due next Tuesday, one written homework piece due on this Thursday and all around general work I should be doing for all my classes. Not to mention the final project for my Wednesday class is sneaking up and that awesome Alex thing has to be done sometime int he future soon.

After that I had to start working requests and drawing in general to keep me warmed up for the summer. Once summer comes I want to start doing my work for Shane and complete the Picture request that Rose has asked of me.

I can't wait till I'm good enough to accept commissions. Getting paid to kick butt at drawing would rock.

Of course I want to create anything in general but I think video games is a good direction for me. I wonder if it would be reasonable to make a goal for me and Shane to publish a game on xbox before I graduate from college. It would certainly be exciting. Here's our time to show case our talents and display our enthusiasm.

I think I should make myself some more coffee from time to time. It's my 'it's time to work' drink.

Anyways despite a hard work filled road ahead, here is the finding of one content college kid; I can't wait to knock their socks off.
