Today was.... blah
Peta is stupid.
I woke up and went to ICA, we had to do an in class assignment. It wasn't hard Andy, Michelle and me all worked together and we where able to hand it in pretty quickly. Then I went to the awesome oldies game store and bought a Bowser plushie! That made me happier. He now watches me! I hug him!
~Gleeeeee
After that, I had life drawing. It was fun, it think i produced my best work today... however so did everybody else so my stuff looks like a bunch crap. Yeah the other art fundies classes are so full of talent I really wish I was in the AA class to kinda see these awesome artist at work and improve and beat them! It's all a race to get into animation. Mary said I would benefit from drawing the human skeleton. I think I'll have to take her advice and do so.
I was in a bad mood, but the I talked to Jessica and Mary and I feel much better. Especially since I blew the hell out of my word count today; 2293, although it took me until after midnight to do so! *cries*
Well here is the next stage, please keep you comments coming, it's really encouraging.

Stage 5
The start of a new day was welcomed by the members of the tiny shack. Gix wanted to listen to everything Zefer had to say, he would have stayed up all night just listening to what his friend had to say, but slumber was very luring and his eye lids grew very heavy. They could only stay up a little bit past sundown for it got to dark to see anything else. Gix found his bed and gentle sleep. Gix awoke to a soft murmuring sound. He’s eyelids shot open as if they were traps snagging a hunted pray.
Listening for the murmuring sound again, Gix rolled over to take a look at the cabin. The sun wasn’t even visible yet and its rays were shinning over the land. Everything is sight was a trouble-free shade of blue. Inside the hut was still dark, but steams of like were illuminating it through Gix’s ever favorite stare out window. Gix’s eyes started sagging down, sleep was tempting him a second time. Murmuring broke through the silence of the morning once more. Gix sat up to inspect where it was coming from. The sound was in the far corner of the cabin. The sound sounded again and Gix decided to kick off his thin blanket and inspect what the sound was. He tip-toe through the room and found that the murmuring was coming from Zefer. Gix felt a little spurt of glee circle around inside him. He couldn’t help vibrate his fist and squint his face into a smile. Zefer rolled over to face Gix and snorted. Gix jumped a little, he was worried that he had woken him by being weird by his bed-side. Staying frozen for sometime Gix waited to see if Zefer was going to make another move, after a couple minutes he didn’t so Gix slouched and let a little sign out from under his breath. Zefer then started murmuring again.
“Go sweep the roof.”
With the sun warming the air Zefer flicked open his eyes. Slowly taking in his surrounds he determined that it was much too bright for this time of the day. Pulling the thick blanket over his head he was going to drift of to sleep once more but he heard a noise. A tiny little noise that sounded like: scrape, pitter-patter, pitter-patter, scrape, pitter-patter. Perhaps it was raining outside. Giant drops of rain that scraped of the top of the roof. Annoyed, Zefer used his feet to slide his blanket off of him and got up to inspect the noise. Walking out side Zefer saw that it looked like there was a haze of brown I the sky. As dust partials settled on Zefer’s messy bed head, Zefer realized that there was no such haze and that it was actually just filth… from the roof. He turned around to see Gix on his hands and knees brushing dirt of the roof with his hands (since they had no broom). Zefer’s eye’s slouched to match his irritated ‘I just woke up’ mood.
“What are you doing?” Zefer asked bluntly.
“Well you see it took me a while to get up on the roof, so I had to go fetch the crates in the river that I left there, then I remember I forgot to clean them so I cleaned them and…” Gix’s explanation travelled off as he realized that what he was talking about didn’t have any significance to what Zefer inquired at all
“I’m sweeping the roof!” Gix said with a very joyful look on his face. Zefer’s face didn’t quite match Gix’s cheerful tone.
“I don’t think we need to wash the roof.”
“Oh…” With that Gix crawled toward the edge of the roof dangling his leg off of the side of the building. He tried not to put weight on it as he stretched it out looking for the top of the box he piled up.
“I frankly don’t know how you were able to scale that make shift ladder. Those boxes look like they could fall apart any moment!” Gix’s foot kicked the corner of the top box and Gix started padding around trying to find a good place to start his descend.
“All that just to wash the roof, honestly?” Even in the morning, when he was half asleep Zefer didn’t stop talking but Gix didn’t mind.
“But you have given me an idea.” Zefer snapped his figures as Gix jumped to the ground and toppled over as his momentum pushed him of his feet. “We should clean this dump up!” Gix couldn’t help but frown as he found his feet. That was his dump he lived in for the past ten years. “Yeah, you go fetch some buckets of water, and I’ll start sorting through all the stuff in the home.” Gix wasn’t to excited to make yet another trip to the river. He did anyways.
Gix grabbed the dry water bucket from the stone stove. This time he was sure that when he scooped up some water he would not come across some weird object gifted to him by a dying man. A quick splash of water and Gix hurried back to the hut. He water was chilly and Gix began missing his thick pure white shirt. He sent down his bucket and hurried over to the pile of folded laundry from yesterday, pulling his white shirt from the bottom of the pile he didn’t realize the whole thing topple over. He cleaned up the mess and became vaguely aware that Zefer was standing still in the middle of the room. Pulling the shirt over head, Gix walked closer to him to inspect what exactly was wrong.
“Gix do you know what this is?” Zefer said with his back turned. There was a pile of clothes on Zefer’s bed full of clothes. Gix looked down to see that the dresser drawers had all been removed. Including the bottom left shelf. Gix cocked his head to the side, with one eyebrow raised. He truly had no idea what he was talking about. Zefer spun around to shove the hero’s object in his face.
“This! This Gix! This do you have any idea what this is?!” Zefer’s voice was raised and Gix quickly shock his head from side to side to show his complete innocents. Zefer lowered it and looked at it.
“I the grand city I was talking about they had just began to make this things.” Zefer was quiet, his voice barely above a whisper. “They were calling it a gun.”
“A gun?”
“Yeah is has the ability to shoot small pebbles long distances very fast.” Zefer continued his explanation. “They are very dangerous, so not many people were allowed to carry one with them or the officials in the city would get aggressive.” Gix was pretty sure Zefer was speaking a different language now. Zefer lift his face to look into Gix’s eyes once more.
“This would have been SO useful yesterday when I was trying to catch that damn rabbit!” Zefer was raising his voice again. “Why didn’t you tell me you had one?” Gix didn’t even know that he had one. Zefer was looking around at it and inspected an area that looked like an elbow of the thing. “This is where you store black powder.” He opened a tiny hatch on top of the thing. He tilted the gun upside down and some black slime plopped out of it onto the floor. “The only thing is you gotta keep it dry.” Gix noticed that Zefer’s hand was position on the only part of the thing that resembled wood. Zefer noticed Gix staring at it and held it out to him.
“I guess you don’t really know anything about it do you?” Zefer coughed on a laugh that he had hidden in his throat. Gix took it and slid his hand over the same part of the wood that Zefer was holding it. Gix took the baffling thing and looked intently at it. There was a hole it the flanking arm to the part Gix was holding. Gix twisted the gun to look down the hole but Zefer quickly grabbed his arm halting him from doing so.
“You shouldn’t do that” Zefer said quite concerned. Gix looked at him with and mumbled an indistinguishable sound.
“It’s simple” He stated “That’s were the pebbles shoot out of, so if you look down that tube… you die.” That sentence made Gix’s heart skip a beat. This item could kill somebody? He didn’t like the sound of it.
“Die?” Gix asked with his voice quivering.
“Well no not that simple. First you have to pull this part back and the press this forward, you also have to make sure that pebble is in there snuggly. There are the round orbs that you can buy that fire out of these things much easier then pebbles.” Zefer rambled on in his normal rambling Zefer sort of way. “Here, if we can dry that clump of black powder on the floor I can show you how to use it.”
“I don’t think I want to use it.”
“Nah, it’ll be no problem, what if a stranger comes to the door you’ll need to defend yourself! Here follow me!” With that, they scooped up the black powdered slime and trotted out side to play with their new toy, their house work clearly forgotten.
It took about half the day for the powder to completely dry, so they spend that time combing the river side for the perfect sized stones. They found a couple. Gix kept picking up really shiny ones to show Zefer how they shone in the sun. Zefer promptly told Gix that those weren’t the right size. They collected a pocketful of walnut sized, gray, dull, and boring stones. Zefer set up their dinner pot bucket on top of chair. At twenty paces away they began their gallery.
“Alright, we’ll only use a tiny bit of the black powder so we can fire this thing a bunch of times.” Zefer explained. Zefer put the first stone into the hole. Gix watched it disappear with fascination. Zefer eyed this and began flailing the gun about.
“See there is a little thing in there that pops up until you fired this thing so the bullet won’t fall out even if you hold it upside down!” Just as Zefer said, the stone stayed put and wasn’t falling out of the gun.
“Alright! Take this bucket.” Zefer pointed the gun forward and pulled the trigger device just in front of his index finger. The gun produced the most wretched sound Gix had ever heard, a loud boom that rattled his bones! He wanted to duck and cover his head, but the action was too quick. He watched the rock rocket out of the tube and ricochet off of the chair. They inspected the damage. Zefer exclaimed with a fit of giggles as he noted the sizeable dent that he had plastered in the size of the chair. Gix took to feeling the indent with his finger. It felt smooth but was still quite hot to the touch.
“Alright I’m going to find where that stone went. You try to shot the bucket off.” Zefer explained as he followed the path of the stone to the other side of the house. Zefer slapped the gun in his hand and jogged off. Gix stared down at the gun, and counted twenty paces away from the bucket. He opened the hatch just like Zefer and placed the black power inside and closed it, making sure to do everything that Zefer did. Rolling the stone down the tube, it clicked into place just as Zefer said it would. Gix felt ready and stood up. He really wasn’t sure what to expect so he widened his stance and pointed the gun forward. He noticed that the bucket became very blurry as he tried to stare at it. He was force to shut one of his eyes to see it properly. Reaching his index forward he closed his hand squeezing the trigger device. Gix closed his eyes.
Just like before the stone fired out of it with a shocking sound. It was scary and exciting. Slightly skipping Gix went to go inspect the chair with the bucket. There weren’t any more dents in the chair and bucket was still in place. Gix looked around think he had missed before examining the scene one more time. Right in the center of the bucket was a perfect whole of the size of the stone. Gix had shot right through the bucket. Excited he ran to go show Zefer what he had found. He grabbed the bucket and dashed over toward the other side of the house ducking under the clothes line as he did so.
“Zefer! Look, look!” Unable to hold in his excitement Gix shouted. Zefer looked up from the bushes a little to suddenly.
“Oh, great. Nice eye there Gix.” Zefer said a little too bluntly.
“Zefer?” Zefer stood up and ducked into the cabin. He held his sword when he emerged.
“I’m going to go find some more food for us tonight.” And with that Zefer left the hut, his burlap trench coat flapping as he did so. The side of the bucket suddenly felt slippery in his hands. He let it slip and fall to the ground as he paced back to clean up the mess from their foolery. Gix placed the gun, powder, and stones in a small pouch and threw it into the bottom left hand drawer in the dresser. The sun would set without any sign of Zefer, Gix was rubbing his neck, it didn’t hurt anymore.

I'm going to start a Gix fanclub!! Zefer's not invited.
Why was Zefer so unimpressed with Gix shot right through the bucket? Was he jealous because he hadn't hit his target before Gix? Sore loser! Where did Gix find this "toy"? lol it's always improving Trav, I adore your story. You're the master character developer
